Activities around Karamea

Take a leisurely stroll around our lovingly tended award-winning gardens.

The beach is a 15-minute walk, and the river is only a 5-minute walk.

If you like fishing then there is surf-casting, fly-fishing and whitebaiting (in season) to enjoy.

Oparara Basin and the Honeycomb Caves (limestone formations) are a one-hour drive away.

Public access to the DOC-restricted Honeycomb Hill is by guided tours only, due to the delicate ecological nature of the area.

Whether you're beach-walking, kayaking, surfing, fishing, bushwalking, birdwatching, golfing, tramping, or simply relaxing, Karamea Village Hotel is the ideal base and perfect place to stay.
